Ok Day 1: We drove like 25 hours straight, dropped the camper at state park and headed over to the Abundant Root Homestead. We had a lot of sleep deprivation lol , but more excitement then ever.
Here is Day2: We got the camper onsite after 1.5 tries of getting up the logging road lol.
But we were determined and very motivated to have our own place. Of course, I was sick and not feeling well between sinus issues and fatigue.
Day 3 and 4: Still not feeling well but the guys cleared area and build our firepit for cooking and set up the rain catch. I laid in the camper most of the day. I did get some fresh are and hear some coyotes in the distance around the fire both nights.
Day 5: Feeling much better but working remotely at McDonalds lol because we quite didn't get the solar and Weboost set up yet. Now we will only be running into town on dry days as I will send pics of the route we take as it is very rugged. This is a dream of ours for a long time.
I sources a water tote about 300 gallons from a nice man at McDonald's that is a local resident. Met the funeral director and got his story from 1960 , Vietnam vet and his wife's story of how she picked cotton to make it through to be a teacher.
Day 6: Visited the local grocery stores, feed and lumber store. Sifted dirt and planted potatoes. The guys worked on the driveway more and rain catch because rain is coming tonight. Willis (chandler) started his own homesite today.
Day 7
Sunday rest day and the loving powers above gave us rain, and we collected it and we stored it like Homesteaders do.
Watch for Week 2: It will be posted on Sunday !!
